As a UX design intern at Sonova, I worked on several projects to improve the digital experience for hearing aid users. I led a project in which I designed and researched a feature for users to find lost hearing aids through bluetooth connectivity.
Build a feature within the existing Sonova app to help users find their lost hearing instruments (HIs) easily and efficiently.
I created a persona of a typical HI user which includes an older adult who on average is above the age of 65 years. Given their age, they tend to be more forgetful and misplaces their HIs commonly. They have difficulty finding them and need a simple solution to their problem.
Should be sent to the user when the last known location of HIs has been different from their current location
Displaying the last known location on an interactive map like Google/Apple maps
Have a salient signal displayed visually and haptically when the user is in close proximity to their lost HI
Have the ability to locate the left and right HI individually incase only one of them is lost
The following should be displayed in the app UI: HI battery level, disconnection status, last known location
I created several lo-fidelity iterations of the initial UI through wire-framing different screens and incorporating the technical requirements.
